Name: Christine Cassis
From: Milton, Massachusetts
School: College of Communication
Intended Major: Journalism

What convinced you to go to BU?

Since I was little, I’ve always wanted to go to BU, and during high school I visited the campus often with friends — at least once a month. Also, I’m pretty sure BU has the sweetest fitness center around.

What are you most excited about coming to college?

Meeting new people and changing my surroundings. Plus, I love Boston so I just can’t wait.

What kinds of activities do you want to become involved in?

Probably broomball. I played ice hockey at my high school, but I’m not competitive or experienced enough to join at BU and broomball seems to be the next best thing. Hopefully, also the communications opportunities in newspaper and broadcasting.

Why did you want to become involved in the Facebook site BU2010?

Well, I wanted to meet my other classmates, of course. It has helped me to get to know a lot of people at BU.

What is one of the goals of your first year at BU?

Do as many new things and meet as many new people as possible.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Getting into BU in the first place. People around here take for granted how great a school BU really is.

What will be your first stop when you start exploring the city of Boston?

Seeing as I know the city of Boston like the back of my hand, I guess I’ll just name a few of my favorite places to explore — Newbury Street for shopping, the fountain at Copley, and the Boston Public Library are amazing, and I’d have to say anywhere along the Charles River is always fun.
