SMG prof to study effects of organization on business decisions
David Weil, SMG professor of finance, is named Everett W. Lord Distinguished Faculty Scholar.
David Weil, a professor of finance and economics at the School of Management, was recently named one of the school’s Everett W. Lord Distinguished Faculty Scholars.
Weil’s current research on regulating the private sector workplace has been funded for the past four years by the Department of Labor. Over the next few years, the award will help him study how the different economics of organizations affect business decisions and how those businesses and industries comply with public policy in general.
The Lord Scholars program provides recipients with a two-year stipend, renewable at the discretion of the dean. It is named for SMG’s founder and recognizes outstanding scholarship among senior professors.
Weil’s other research interests include public policy analysis and intervention, labor market policy, regulatory performance, industrial and labor relations policy, and supply chain restructuring.
