Name: Sadaf Ayub
From: Modesto, California
School: COM
Major: Broadcast Journalism

What convinced you to come to BU?

BU’s College of Communication and its setting in Boston made it my top choice.

What makes you feel most excited about coming to college?

I’m excited to be living in the city and having the chance to meet new people and try new things.

What makes you feel most nervous about coming to college?

Being a native Californian, I’m nervous about the cold New England winters.

What kinds of activities do you want to become involved in?

Student government has been a big part of my life in high school, so hopefully I can continue that at BU. I also would like to be part of the student newspaper and radio station and any other media-related activities.

What is one of the goals of your first year at BU?

I really want to meet a lot of people, and not just within the school; I want to get acquainted with the community and the media market as well.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

I think coming to BU is my greatest accomplishment.

What will be your first stop when you start exploring Boston?

I’ve done the whole tourist thing in Boston, so I definitely want to explore Boston as Bostonians know it. It’s my goal to find somewhere unique and exclusive, whatever that might be.

How are you spending your summer vacation?

I’m spending my summer in California with my friends and family before I make the big move east.
