Undressing Indie Rock

Roman Lojko (COM’08) undresses the indie rock industry in his blog, Undress Me Robot.

It may not be apparent from this blog’s title, but Undress Me Robot is a one-stop shop for lovers of indie everything: books, music, movies. The blog is written by several writers (and invites readers to contribute) and edited by Roman Lojko (COM’08).

A recent posting reviews Apples in Stereo’s new CD, New Magnetic Wonder: “Apples in Stereo historically like to rock, pop, and sing sweet, sweet melodies that bounce around in their listeners’ heads for days on end. (See: their classic albums Fun Trick Noisemaker and Tone Soul Evolution.) They are also known to, although not necessarily expected to, infuse a bunch of mini interludes loosely related to each other into their albums, making some track lists longer than the average track list. (See: Her Wallpaper Reverie.) New Magnetic Wonder does not deviate from either of these former trends. In fact, the Apples have yet again produced another thriller of an album with many a track; one that has stepped up in quality and diversity from their previous effort, Velocity of Sound, and has come close to matching the peaks of their best releases.”
