Leif Rosenberger
Leif Rosenberger (MET’75) of Gettysburg, Pa., earned a master’s in BU’s Metropolitan College. He writes, “I went on to get a doctorate in international relations at Claremont Graduate University in California. I spent six years in the US intelligence community, 10 years as a professor of economics at the US Army War College, and almost two decades as the chief economist at the United States Pacific Command and the United States Central Command. Along the way, I was the interagency task force commander for the New Silk Road for General David Petraeus. The wonderful learning community at Metropolitan College helped to launch my doctoral studies and my subsequent 35-year US government career as a practitioner, educator, and scholar. In February 2018, I was promoted to chief economist at ACERTAS, a think tank in Los Angeles that does economic, political, and military risk assessments. I felt I had a lot to share, so I recently published a book, Economic Statecraft and US Foreign Policy: Reducing the Demand for Violence (Routledge, 2019). I hope this helps the cause for BU students.” Contact Leif at leifrosy@yahoo.com.
