Erica Ferencik

Erica Ferencik (GRS’89) of Framingham, Mass., published the thriller Into the Jungle (Scout Press, 2019). She spent a month in 2017 traveling in the Bolivian Amazon to research the book, which was a New York Times 2019 summer reading pick. “Erica Ferencik paints a picture of a jungle ripe with the amorality of nature,” the Times wrote, “where dropping one’s guard or losing focus means death from any number of sources—enormous water snakes or minute poisonous frogs or flesh-eating parasites—and the humans, be they gun-toting poachers or antagonistic villagers, are actually the least frightening forms of life.” Learn more at ericaferencik.com.
