George Ransom

George Ransom (Wheelock’79,’83) of Walpole, Mass., spent his professional career in mental health services. He worked in local hospitals, rehab centers, and freestanding clinics, specializing in treating those facing addiction and sexual offenders. He writes that he has published a number of journal articles on innovative programming and service development. He has two grown children and two grandchildren, and recently retired. For the past 15 years, he has painted with oils and pastels, focusing on sea and landscapes, lighthouses, and floral still lifes as subjects, and has won many awards for his work. Last summer, he showed his work in an exhibit in the Walpole Public Library. Recently, he wrotePlimptonville: Celebrating 200 Years, a document meant to be used as a walking tour of the Plimptonville area of Walpole, which was published through the Walpole Historical Society.
