Laurie Ray
Laurie Ray (SSW’96) of Cary, N.C., has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of aging and hospice care, and was appointed in 2017 by Governor Roy Cooper to the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure board of directors. In 2004, she established Cope Eldercare, a geriatric care management service caring for all, regardless of their ability to pay. Social Work Today magazine recognized her in its 2013 annual edition of “10 Dedicated and Deserving Social Workers.” She also teaches pet therapy, assisting volunteers and their canine companions to become a certified team.
