Risa Mickenberg
Risa Mickenberg (COM’88) of New York, N.Y., is a screenwriter whose feature film, EGG, was released in theaters nationally on January 18, 2019. The film stars Christina Hendricks (Mad Men), Alysia Reiner (Orange Is the New Black), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Gbenga Akinnagbe (The Wire), and David Alan Basche (The Good Wife), and was directed by Marianna Palka. Risa writes, “EGG is an unflinching comedy about why women choose motherhood, why they revere it, fear it, and why some women choose to forgo it. Over the course of one explosive evening, two couples and a surrogate must face their own ridiculous and sometimes heartbreaking shortcomings.” The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was selected for the Nantucket Film Festival, the Philadelphia Film Festival, and the Bentonville Film Festival, cofounded by Geena Davis (CFA’79, Hon.’99).
