Sara Robin

Sara Robin (COM’15) of Santa Monica, Calif., a writer and director, completed principal photography on her short film Cranberry Nights in June 2019. Cranberry Nights is a contemporary coming-of-age drama intended to shed light on the experience of undocumented immigrants in the United States. The film was shot over three nights in East Los Angeles and is in postproduction. Sara sought to involve members of the undocumented community in the cast and crew. To prepare for the film, she met with young leaders in the undocumented community, gathered facts, and held in-depth interviews about their experiences. “The most important thing to me is that the story I tell is truthful,” she says.
