Gus Wheeler
Technical Associate, Sculpture & Painting
Gus Wheeler grew up in New York City and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College in 2013, where he majored in Studio Art and Mathematics. He received his Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Boston University in 2019. He has participated in residencies at the Chautauqua School of Art in Chautauqua, New York, and Anderson Ranch in Snowmass Village, Colorado. Prior to his graduate studies, Gus worked in galleries in Chelsea and as a freelance Art Handler and has been on the exhibition installation team at the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston since 2019. In addition to cultivating his personal art practice, he has participated in exhibitions in New York City, Hudson, Poughkeepsie, and Boston. Currently, Interim Technical Associate, Painting and Sculpture, at Boston University School of Visual Arts, overseeing the School’s woodshops and studios. When not in the woodshop, you can find him being cozy at home with his tiny cat Eloise.
