Instrumental Seating Auditions 2023

Auditions for MP600/MP500 (Orchestra), MP602/MP502 (Wind Ensemble), and MP608 (Chamber Music) are required of each student, every September of their residency in the School of Music.

Instrumental Seating Assignments

Seating assignments for each project cycle will be posted here. Please check all seating assignments across all ensembles since you may be placed in multiple ensembles during a cycle.

Woodwind, brass, percussion, and harp players: your semester assignments for wind ensemble and/or orchestra will be posted here after auditions are complete: Ensemble Distribution Fall 2023. Please update your registration accordingly.

Choral Auditions

All undergraduate vocal majors will be required to audition prior to the first meeting of BU Singers; further details will be provided in late August. Non-vocal majors who are experienced singers and interested in auditioning should contact the School of Music main office.

Participation in Symphonic Chorus is required of all undergraduate vocal majors and is open to any other students and staff from the wider BU community. Brief tests of vocal range and color (for everyone besides undergraduate vocal majors) will be conducted during the opening weeks of the term.
