Our School of Theatre auditions between 1,000 and 1,300 applicants yearly. We then have the privilege of inviting up to 35 of those artists to join our first year <\/span>Performance Core<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The undergraduate<\/span> Performance Core<\/b> is for BFA candidates pursuing a <\/span>BFA in Acting or BFA in Theatre Arts\u2013\u2013Performance. <\/b>Applicants may submit as an Early Decision applicant for Early Decision 1 or Early Decision 2;\u00a0 A Regular Decision applicant; or a Transfer Student applicant.<\/span><\/p>\n

Applying to Theatre at BU<\/h4>\n

There are two parts<\/strong> to the BU application process for prospective undergraduate (BFA) students:
\n1) Academic Review via the <\/span>Common App<\/span><\/a>, and
\n2) Artistic Review via the Acceptd<\/a> portal<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Applicants must complete <\/span>both parts <\/b>of the application process to be considered for admission to the BU School of Theatre.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Applications for Boston University can be completed via the <\/span>Common App<\/a>. <\/span>Once the Common App has been submitted, and applicants have received a BU ID, they can apply for an <\/span>Artistic Review via <\/b>Acceptd<\/b><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Artistic Reviews<\/b> vary slightly depending on the core program for which you apply. Applicants must submit a prescreen through Acceptd<\/b><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In Acceptd<\/b><\/a>, Performance Core applicants must choose from: <\/span>Performance Core Early Decision 1,\u00a0 <\/i>Performance Core Early Decision 2, <\/i><\/b>or Performance Core Regular Decision<\/i><\/b>, when selecting a \u201cProgram\u201d in Acceptd. Performance Core is best suited for students pursuing BFA degree in Acting or Theatre Arts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Applicants selected from their <\/span><\/i>prescreen<\/i><\/b> will be invited for an interview or audition\/interview through the Acceptd Platform messaging system, with details TBA (be sure to check your Acceptd inbox).<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n
