One of the biggest draws to Boston University is the opportunity to learn across disciplines and subjects. While every student stretches their academic interests, some wish to delve deeply into degree programs from multiple Schools. Boston University\u2019s Dual Degree Program allows undergraduate students to pursue two bachelor\u2019s degrees from separate schools or colleges simultaneously. The pursuit of BU\u2019s Dual Degree Program requires careful consideration and planning.<\/p>\n

DUAL DEGREE ADMISSIONS FOR CFA STUDENTS<\/h4>\n

To be considered for the Dual Degree Program, you must be a sophomore in the College of Fine Arts. Please review the program requirements and application for CFA students below.<\/p>\n

Program Requirements<\/h5>

\nTo be eligible for the dual degree program, you must first reach sophomore standing. Students must meet with the dual degree advisor in the CFA Dean\u2019s Office as well as an academic representative of the secondary college to plan an appropriate schedule.<\/p>\n

The DDP requires completion of at least 36 classes (144 credits), three semesters of enrollment in the Dual Degree Program, good academic standing, and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00. You must also complete the degree requirements of both Schools\/Colleges of enrollment, including major requirements, general education requirements, and college requirements.<\/p>\n

It is likely you will need to overload for one or more semester(s). Please plan with your Academic Advisor, and submit a completed Overload Form<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Please note that it is likely that a dual degree path will take more than four years to complete, including possible summers. Be sure to diligently plan with your Academic Advisor before deciding if this is the path for you and consider the possible financial implications.

Application Process<\/h5>

\nCFA students interested in the Dual Degree Program should first contact Brendan Hoey at brendan2@bu.edu<\/a>; non-CFA students should start the process with the College or School of their primary degree program.<\/p>\n

Students will then meet with the advisor\/Dual Degree coordinator in their current school and in their School\/College of proposed enrollment to discuss each School\u2019s degree requirements and begin the Dual Degree Program application below. You may also be referred to a departmental advisor for additional advising and approval.<\/p>\n

As a part of the application, students are required to write a two-page statement of intent for the Dual Degree Program.<\/p>\n

Students are required to meet the admission criteria for the Dual Degree Program (outlined below), including introductory courses or audition\/portfolio requirements for certain Schools\/Colleges<\/p>\n

Your primary School\/College coordinator will review your finalized application and notify you of your admission status via email.<\/p>\n
