We all experience stressful and difficult events as a normal part of life. \u00a0If you are seeking guidance, resources, or support for your mental health and well being, there are many avenues to pursue at Boston University and beyond, no matter what kind of support you are seeking.<\/p>\n<p>This non-comprehensive guide is meant to highlight some of the most commonly utilized resources by our community at BU, in Boston, and online. They specialize in assessment and diagnosis; brief treatment, including therapy and psychiatry for a variety of mental health issues; and referral to community resources for longer-term care.<\/p>\n<p>This means they can refer you to qualified therapists, psychiatrists and psychiatric nurses who are a quick walk or T-ride from campus. Community providers have various specialties including working with eating disorders, trauma, OCD and substance abuse. They can also refer students to clinicians with expertise in providing services to LGBTQ students, our international student population and more.<\/p>\n<p>Behavioral Medicine offers various workshops and groups to help you address a variety of mental health related needs. Over 2,000 scientific studies support the positive effects of meditation. A new initiative of the Provost&#8217;s Office, this department will strive to create a holistic, integrated, and shared approach to wellbeing on all of BU&#8217;s campuses. Provides a search tool as well as a podcast and other online resources.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thelovelandfoundation.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Loveland Foundation<\/a>: <\/strong>The Loveland Foundation works to bring opportunity and healing to communities of color through fellowships, residency programs, listening tours, and more. Specifically they provide financial assistance to Black women and girls nationally seeking therapy.<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.therapyforlatinx.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Therapy for Latinx<\/a>: <\/strong> Therapy for Latinx leverages technology to serve as a national mental health resource for the Latinx community by working with licensed therapists across the country.
