The Oboe Workshop is under the co-direction of <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/id-andrea.cms-devl.bu.edu\/cfa\/profile\/john-ferrillo\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Ferrillo<\/a>, Boston Symphony Orchestra Principal Oboe and BU Lecturer in Music in Oboe, and <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/id-andrea.cms-devl.bu.edu\/cfa\/about\/contact-directions\/directory\/robert-sheena\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robert Sheena<\/a>, Boston Symphony Orchestra English horn and BU Lecturer in Music in Oboe and English horn.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with guest faculty member, <a href=\"https:\/\/id-andrea.cms-devl.bu.edu\/cfa\/profile\/mark-mcewen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mark McEwan<\/a>, Boston Symphony Orchestra oboist<\/li>\n<li>Study of standard orchestral and recital repertoire<\/li>\n<li>Instruction on fundamentals including long-tones, slow scales, Barret and Ferling etudes<\/li>\n<li>Seminars and group discussion on reed making technique<\/li>\n<li>Individualized attention and masterclasses<\/li>\n<li>Performance opportunities<\/li>\n<li>Boston University transferable course credit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Related Programs<\/h4>\n<p>BUTI encourages you to apply to every program for which you&#8217;re interested and eligible. Any student applying for scholarship must complete the scholarship section of the admissions application, even if only applying for a merit-based award (the scholarship application is found within the digital admissions application).
