The committee is excited to announce the following guest artists for the School of Music’s 150th birthday<\/a> as we work to bring more diverse artists to the Boston University CFA School of Music:<\/span><\/p>\n Born out of the desire to foster cultural curiosity, Castle of our Skins is a concert and educational series dedicated to celebrating Black artistry through music. From classrooms to concert halls, Castle of our Skins invites exploration into Black heritage and culture, spotlighting both unsung and celebrated figures of past and present.<\/span><\/p>\n Gregory T.S. Walker is an American composer, violinist, and guitarist. He was the recipient of the American Academy of Arts and Letters Charles Ives Fellowship in 2000, and has performed with major orchestras around the world.<\/p>\n Currently serving as Composer-in-Residence with the storied Philadelphia Orchestra and included in the Washington Post\u2019s list of the 35 most significant women composers in history (August, 2017), Gabriela Lena Frank is an American pianist and composer of contemporary classical music.<\/p>\n World-renowned composer-performer, Kenneth Amis, enjoys an international career of high acclaim. An active composer, Mr. Amis has received commissions from several institutions and music organizations. He was a founding member and on the Board of Directors for the American Composers Forum New England Chapter. \nThe Theater Offensive has established a fund of $10,000 to provide temporary financial assistance to Greater Boston\u2019s QTPOC (queer and trans people of color) performing artists and youth affected by the pandemic. Temporary Assistance can be used for anything the recipient has need of\u2013 food, rent, education, utilities, healthcare, art\/creation supplies, artistic support\/sponsorship for upcoming events, etc.\u00a0<\/span>
