There are\u00a0<\/span>five\u00a0main resources<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>through which it is expected students can handle most issues pertaining to their academic programs at the School of Music.<\/p>\n The Bulletin<\/a> under which a student matriculates serves as the\u00a0<\/span>authority<\/em>\u00a0<\/span>for that student\u2019s degree requirements. Each degree program at the University has an explanation in the Bulletin of which courses, exams, and projects must be completed to graduate.<\/p>\n Students can get a summary of their degree progress through the online software Degree Advice<\/a>. This resource explains which courses, exams, and projects are required for the degree, which have been completed, and which are still left to finish. If the Bulletin and Degree Advice disagree, the Bulletin\u2019s information serves as the authority. Degree Advice is supplemental to the services provided by a student\u2019s academic adviser.<\/p>\n The Music Student Resources portal<\/a> houses all School of Music specific procedures, forms, policies, and internal matters. The Bridge is a good resource for clarifying the \u201chow-to\u201d when completing the requirements of your degree program, and serves to provide up-to-date information on SOM student events and deadlines.<\/p>\n Current SOM Graduate Students who wish to apply to a different or additional program than their current enrollment must do so within twelve months of matriculation in their original program. Students who register for classes for a third semester in their original program are no longer eligible to apply to a new program. In that case, the student must complete the current program and then, if desired, apply separately for admission to another program. Access the Change of Program Application<\/a>. The BU Student Link<\/a> is a University resource that covers those areas centralized by the University, including: course registration, grades, student accounting, and loans. All freshmen and sophomores enrolled in required Applied Music lessons must take end-of-semester juries, and each undergraduate major has specific evaluation requirements for the junior and senior years. First-year MM students in voice and certain DMA candidates are also required to perform juries. Please see the\u00a0<\/span>ML Applied Lesson Syllabus<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>for more details.<\/p>\n Passing a jury examination signifies that a student as attained a new Applied level. The final sophomore jury examination (SO2 level) is used as the final level for clearing students for Performance-level proficiency.<\/p>\n *Please be in contact with your studio teacher for instructions.<\/em><\/p>\n The sign up document has been sent to all eligible students; please note that you will need to use your BU account to enter your information. Students who will take a jury may then begin signing up for slots. The last day of classes is the last day to register for jury examinations. Please verify the availability of your accompanist, if any, before committing to a time.<\/p>\n Each student taking a jury must bring a completed\u00a0<\/span>Applied Music Examination Form<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>to their jury.
