Two BU Wheelock Faculty Elected APA Fellows
BU Wheelock faculty members Kathleen Corriveau and Grace S. Kim have been elected American Psychological Association (APA) Fellows. APA Fellow status “is awarded, in part, on the basis of evaluated evidence of outstanding contribution in the field of psychology,” writes David Pantalone, chair of the APA Fellows Committee.
Kathleen Corriveau: Training the next generation of applied scientists
Kathleen Corriveau, professor of applied human development, directs BU Wheelock’s Social Learning Lab, where her research explores social cognitive development of trust in early childhood.
“I’m honored to be included among those recognized by my developmental psychology colleagues,” says Corriveau. “ I look forward to continuing to train the next generation of applied scientists as we focus on how social interactions enhance student learning in the early years.”
Grace S. Kim: Creating a more just and equitable world
For Grace Kim, a clinical associate professor of counseling psychology whose research focuses on social justice education and Asian American psychology, the peer recognition of APA Fellow status is inspiration to continue her work.
“I believe psychology has much to contribute toward creating a more just and equitable world,” says Kim. “I will consider this recognition as an encouragement to keep doing social justice work through teaching, research, and advocacy.”
