Laura A. De Veau

Dr. Laura De Veau is an adjunct faculty member applying her three decades of experience college and university administration to her teaching in the Higher Education Administration program at BU Wheelock. Her expertise is in the areas of strategic planning, outcomes assessment, student engagement, and executive leadership. 

Dr. De Veau served as the vice president for student affairs at Mount Ida College from 2013 until its closure in May 2018. She also had extensive professional accomplishments as an employee at Endicott College, Babson College, Indiana University of PA, and Boston University. As a vice president, Dr. De Veau’s portfolio encompassed nine direct reports and 23 functional areas including: Residential & Campus Life, Student Conduct, Student Health & Wellness Services, Disability Services, Student Engagement, and Intercollegiate Athletics (NCAA DIII).

Dr. De Veau has been a committed member of NASPA since 1992 serving leadership roles at the state, regional, and national level. She has served as a faculty member for NASPA’s two most prestigious institutes: the Manicur Symposium and the New VPSA Institute, and was selected on two occasions to participate in NASPA’s “Hill Days” an advocacy initiative that brought Higher Education leaders to Washington, DC, to meet with congressional representatives from the House and the Senate. She is the principal and founder of Fortify Associates, LLC, a boutique consulting firm located in Newton, Massachusetts. Fortify Associates serves mission-driven organizations committed to optimization, training, and organizing.
