Program Manager, Upward Bound

Sandy Nguyen serves as the program manager for Boston University Upward Bound, a college preparatory program dedicated to empowering potential first-generation-to-college and low-income students from Boston Public High Schools. In her role, Ms. Nguyen is committed to guiding and supporting students on their journey toward and through higher education.

Before joining BU Wheelock, Ms. Nguyen was the diversity, equity, and inclusion support specialist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. There, she managed initiatives and programming in workforce development, supporting historically marginalized youth and adults through pivotal education and career transitions. Ms. Nguyen’s expertise lies in coaching with equity in mind, and the impact of her mentorship extends to her current role at BU Wheelock. She strongly believes in providing access and support to all students, allowing them to pursue their educational and professional dreams.
