
Shannon Duncan
Research Scientist
Shannon Duncan is a research scientist with the National Center on Improving Literacy (NCIL) at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. As the targeted technical assistance coordinator, Ms. Duncan manages requests in innovation and scientific projects, assistance agreements, and consultants in collaboration with the priority strand four co-leads.
Before joining BU Wheelock. Ms. Duncan was the sole proprietor of Dyslexia Navigation Associates for the last 13 years, where she delivered research-based reading instruction to adults and children with dyslexia. She is a founding member of Decoding Dyslexia Virginia, a grassroots movement focused on linking families to resources, increasing awareness, and engaging decisionmakers. Her passion for equitable access to literacy has fueled her contributions to both federal and state policies related to dyslexia and literacy laws.
