The Master of Arts (MA) in Educational Policy Studies at Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development prepares students to conduct rigorous education-focused research and data analysis, and to make informed decisions when creating PreK\u201320 education and child policies. You’ll explore educational and child-related research policy, and learn quantitative and qualitative research methods and how to use them to understand and evaluate policy. You’ll also be able to tailor your degree by choosing electives that explore specific policy areas of interest to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a student in the MA in Educational Policy Studies, you’ll take rigorous courses in research methods, policy analysis, and policy systems and processes, with an emphasis on equitable and just policies for students, children, and families. Through the program’s capstone project, you will have the opportunity to engage in real-world research at a Boston University center or at an external partner organization, including research firms, advocacy groups, nonprofits, or government organizations. You will also have the opportunity to work with Boston University faculty as a research assistant. The Educational Policy Studies master\u2019s can be completed in one year if enrolled full-time (or two years for part-time enrollment). Full-time students must start in the fall, with options for a fall or spring semester start for part-time students.
