Why did you choose BU?
I fell in love with it when I visited as a junior, and the more I looked into BU and compared it to other schools I was considering, I knew that BU was my first choice.
What are you most looking forward to about Boston?
I’m looking forward to getting to know my classmates and just being in the city itself. I’ve lived in the suburbs for my entire life, and I’m excited to try something new.
What will you miss most about home?
I’ll definitely miss my friends — who are mostly going to school in the New York area — and my family.
What will you miss least about home?
I will not miss having to drive to get anywhere — there isn’t much to do within walking distance in my town!
Describe your favorite high school memory.
My school has a huge annual ceremony for the seniors called Ring Day. The juniors decorate the entire school grounds based on a secret theme. All of the grades, from 6 to 11, play a part in making the ceremony unforgettable for the seniors and cheer for us when we get our class rings. Helping to plan Ring Day for six years and then finally getting to walk across the stage to get my ring was amazing.
What high school activities do you hope to continue with at BU?
I want to continue doing community service at BU. I was really involved with a lot of different organizations in high school and would love to stay with them.
What new activities do you want to try?
I want to try intramural sports — maybe soccer or broomball.
What is one of your long-term goals during your time at BU?
One of my long-term goals during my time at BU is to become more outgoing and independent. I’m normally a fairly shy person.
What are you doing this summer to get ready for your first year of college?
I’ve been reading a lot and getting things together for my dorm room.
