  1. The Project Baby section of Project Health works in the newborn nursery at BMC, and I can say that the work they do for our new (and expanding!) families is priceless. Without them, much of what we do in the nursery would be pointless. We can keep a baby well while she or he is in the hospital, but the problems they go home to — falling roofs, negligent landlords, maternal job loss due to pregnancy and breastfeeding — can’t be addressed medically. Project Baby fills the gaps for so many of our families, I often wonder if perhaps they are what new mothers remember best about their experience here! I’m humbled and impressed by Frank’s work, but not at all surprised. Thank you for profiling this great group of volunteers!
