  1. Thank you , thank you, thank you for devoting so much space to this beautiful story of this amazing woman. It pains me so much that Ann Howard Jones wasn’t at BU when I was a student — I had been a voice major in high school but didn’t want to sing opera so registered in the College of Liberal Arts instead. In those days there weren’t any opportunities for a non-opera student to sing under the guidance of a faculty member. I didn’t sing again for 20 years. Kudos to BU for recruiting and keeping this valuable treasure! And brava to Professor Jones!

  2. Dr. Jones is a consummate artist, enriching the lives of the fortunate souls she nurtures with a gentle, yet passionate spirit for an exemplary musical excellence uniquely and unabashedly present in every downbeat she graces.

  3. I had the honor of singing under Dr. Jones at the University of Georgia, in her last year before leaving for Boston. My mother, a life-long voice and piano musician, heard one of our concerts and she told me “Cherish this time working with Dr. Jones. She is a once-in-a-lifetime talent.” Of course, my mother was right!

  4. I add my voice to applaud Ann Jones- I had many wonderful moments at the Shaw Carnegie Hall workshops. I came to Atlanta once to study the Brahms Requiem with her. What I like most and respect about her is that it is always about the music and not about her! Thanks, Ann
