  1. I agree with James! More installations/sculptures/murals/art walks/artist visits should be on campus. Art brings people together/forms community, I wish there was a larger art culture here

    1. That comment probably sounded ignorant considering the existence of the BU Arts Initiative… I just think art as a whole could be a much bigger presence on campus than it currently is.

  2. Its a sad day for art when pointing one laser beam from one building to the next is considered an “Art Installation”. Sorry to be negative, but this is crap.

    1. I have to agree slightly with the grumpy old man. I mean, really? I think it is very cool and happy they are doing it, but calling it art is a stretch. This is something the engineering department could do and they could say it calls attention to science and technology… This is like painting a canvas red, calling it “Red” and convincing a bunch of art historians that it is art.

    2. I completely agree. While it is cool to have lasers…this isn’t “art”. It seems like a group of people over defining what lasers do.

I also agree with Joe and James. BU needs more installations…something that people remember. Possibly enlarging the “Boston University” sign near the Kenmore Classroom would be a good idea to start.
