Why should I go? As part of its popular “Summer in the City” series of free outdoor entertainment, the hotel hosts “Pop-Soul Tuesdays,” featuring performances of live R&B and soul music. Local bands and singers perform on the anchored floating stage of a barge behind the hotel as guests enjoy the show from the Rowes Wharf Sea Grille and patio. Tonight, First Class Band & Concetta, a popular Boston-based wedding band known for party music from the 1990s to the present, kicks off a versatile July lineup: Steve Memmolo & Classic Yellow Band on July 9, Soul City Band on July 16, Ray Greene on July 23, and Sweet Tooth & the Sugar Babies on July 30.
Led by singer-songwriter Concetta, First Class Band has a setlist that combines pop, dance, R&B, and Motown, sure to have you tapping your feet. Cocktails and dinner are available at Rowes Wharf Sea Grille, which has a summer menu featuring fresh seafood and more, put together by chef Daniel Bruce. The hotel’s summer music series includes “Rat Pack Wednesdays” and “Blues Barge Thursdays” as well. Find a list of this year’s “Pop-Soul Tuesdays” concerts here.
