  1. I have always thought (after learning the phrase in high school) that q-p-q could be applied to any transaction. You are expected to pay for what you receive; grocerys, clothing, gasoline, etc. You expect to receive same.
    Politicians have managed to mess up other seemingly innocent words/ phrases throughout history.
    Gravitas. Hudspah. (Top of head spelling but you get my point).
